We usually associate those working in law enforcement, like policemen, to be tough and strong. The same can be said for K9s that aid these officers.
Most of the K9 unit dogs are huge, tough, and highly skilled in their jobs. They can sniff danger from afar or a person in need of help even from miles apart. One perfect example is Sonny, a tough-looking K9 dog who is always ready when it’s time for his duty.
His owner is Corporal Jason Frey who works for the Clinton Police Department, Connecticut. Jason shares that Sonny has always been ready for duty and would instantly be in “cop” mode when the situation calls for it. Whenever he sees Jason dressed in his police uniform, Sonny would immediately jump into the patrol car.
Jason has definitely found the best police partner in Sonny. But when they go home, the pooch immediately switches his “cop” mode and turns into a gentle giant – that is, when he sees his baby sister Reagan.
Before Reagan was born. Jason and Lainey, his wife, considered Sonny their whole world. But all that changed when Lainey gave birth. At first, the couple was afraid of how Sonny would feel about not being their “baby” anymore.
Fortunately, Sonny adjusted well to having his baby sister around. Contrary to his tough police persona, Sonny is very sweet and patient with his little sister.
Whether she’s playing with his ears or tail, he just sits calmly and lets her do whatever she wants. He doesn’t even mind when she crawls all over him. Sonny’s gentleness towards Reagan is proof that he now understands that he is already a big brother.
Sonny is definitely a smart and caring dog who looks after his little sister with the same keenness he has at work.
