For a lot of people, going to the dentist can cause stress and anxiety. Fortunately, for those who go to Corte Madera Family Dentistry in California, a 13-year-old Chihuahua called Kismet can comfort them.
Kismet is an office pooch there in Marin. She is also a rescue pet. The office dentist at Corte Madera Family Dentistry, Dr. Cameron Garrett, said that a pooch like Kismet could help an anxious patient.
Dr. Garrett said that after working for several years in the industry, she learned that she is a psychiatrist as much as a dentist. She said that everyone brings some anxiety or emotional baggage into the dental environment.

According to Dr. Garrett, there are scientific studies that show having physical interaction with a pet lowers blood pressure. It also helps lower a person’s heart rate and makes someone much calmer at the moment.
Dogs really can put people at ease. Every day, therapy dogs help people with their anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress. The moment that dog lovers notice Kismet, they instantly light up, and it removes their stresses at the moment.
Before having a job and finding a family, Muttville Senior Dog Rescue took Kismet who was a stray. She has undergone medical treatments worth thousands of dollars. They removed a cancerous tumor, treated a hernia, extracted all her teeth because of periodontal disease.

Her family believed someone abused Kismet before they adopted her. However, despite her difficult past, Kismet is very affectionate. She rarely barks, loves to have someone hold her, and would stay on your lap all day if she could.
According to Debra, Kismet became the perfect addition to their office and family. She said Kismet brings so much delight to everyone and she is the sweetest.
