Living life with a disability or an illness is hard. But having someone by your side makes things a lot more bearable!
This is why much was just the relief of this girl’s parents when they found her a most loyal friend, at the same time, a caretaker – Ariel, her dog BFF!
Hadley, the kid, has had epilepsy ever since. Her mom shares she could still remember her first fit. She was only 17 months old that time, and was on her lap when she just began trembling!
She felt so terrified, and who wouldn’t? And then she found out later that her kid has epilepsy, which she would be carrying for the rest of her life!
Imagine how a mother must have felt at that moment!
She thought she couldn’t do anything then except to keep a close watch over her. This was until some good people recommended she get Hadley a service dog! Years after that and she still feels she couldn’t thank enough these individuals who, for her, had given the best advice she took in life.
The puppy, which they later named Ariel, and Hadley hit it off right away. She was indeed a tremendous help to her human as she’s able to detect a seizure before it actually occurs! This would then allow Hadley’s parents to administer her medication immediately.
So with that, the two had been inseparable since. Ariel goes with her even in school and joins her every class, to the point that she got herself an “honorary student award”!
But it doesn’t stop there. As the school year came to a close, Hadley’s teachers decided they would recommend reserving Ariel a spot in their yearbook!
When it did come out, much was the surprise of Hadley’s parents on seeing her and Ariel’s profiles right next to each other! The grateful mom says it meant the world to her to see her daughter and the dog loved and appreciated by others!
We’re so happy to be hearing such positive news in this trying time. We could just hope others like Hadley find someone as kind, caring, and sharp as Ariel!
