Meet Brody, a charming St. Bernard, and his neighbor and friend Sally Reenhorn, a 95-year-old woman. Sally met Brody when he’s only a puppy, and she shares that the cute puppy always stays outside of her house after his dad bathes him.
Sally lives alone, and yet she’s always pleasant to the fluffy dog. Since she has no dog treats, she’ll feed him bread instead, and Brody enjoys every bite.
It then became a routine for Brody to visit Sally, and eventually, she welcomed the pooch inside her house. Brody will sit on the couch, and they’ll watch football together. Sometimes, Brody will follow Sally in the yard as she takes care of plants.
The two would also walk and go to the church together. Brody loves it when Sally rubs his belly with her foot. She treats him like her own pet, and they enjoy each other’s company all the time.
Months after their continuous bonding, Sally suffered a mild heart attack that led her children to bring her to a facility three miles away from their home. It’s a sad moment for Brody and Sally, and it’s difficult for Brody to adjust. However, Sally needs a place where it can meet her medical needs.
After a few months, Brody would still visit Sally’s house and check on the window if she’s inside. He’ll walk around the house and wait until he falls asleep. Brody does this every day, hoping that his friend would finally show up.
One morning, Brody’s human parents decided to take him for a ride, and the dog already knows where they’ll go — visit Sally! When they reached the facility’s lobby, Sally’s already there to greet her furry friend and gave him a warm hug. Brody’s overjoyed seeing his best friend again, and his reaction’s priceless!
Sally doesn’t own Brody, but they have an admirable human-canine friendship. It’s heart-warming that even though they didn’t see each other for a few months, they still vividly remember each other.
