Elizabeth is a dog-loving girl who enjoyed fostering rescued canines from Love of All Dogs Rescue, the local animal shelter. When she saw Cochi, a sad-looking Pittie, she knew she had to help.
Making friends
Cochi was calm as Elizabeth brought her home. The dog was a bit skeptical about being in a new environment so she made sure to sniff each corner of the house before laying on the floor.
On the same evening, Sinatra, Elizabeth’s dog, came to welcome Cochi but unfortunately, Cochi felt threatened and bit Sinatra. Elizabeth was shocked and she immediately thought of relocating Cochi to another foster home.
Once Elizabeth calmed down, she realized that Cochi might be overwhelmed and had not healed from past trauma. After reassessing the situation, Elizabeth decided to keep Cochi and give her another chance.
Elizabeth was still scared that Cochi might attack Sinatra again so she decided to buy a muzzle. Despite the aggressive episode, Elizabeth knew that Cochi could still learn to make friends with other dogs.
Journey to forever home
Elizabeth spent the following weeks training Cochi. When she was confident enough about Cochi’s progress, she slowly reintroduced her to Sinatra. Fortunately, that time around, Cochi and Sinatra got along and began to play with each other.
As Cochi and Sinatra got closer, Cochi started to be more confident in interacting with other dogs. Cochi loved going on walks with Sinatra and it gave him the chance to greet other canines and play with them.
Cochi blossomed into a more confident and gentler dog and it was all thanks to Elizabeth and Sinatra. It didn’t take long before a kind family applied to adopt him and promised to give him the life he truly deserved.
