When Alex adopted Sunny, a rescue dog, the animal was extremely cautious and hesitant. She would remain in her box without interacting with anyone. Alex, however, did not wish to abandon her.
Alex was incredibly patient as he worked to earn Sunny’s trust. He would allow Sunny to adjust to his presence and would not force her to do anything unless she was willing. After a couple of weeks, Sunny came out of her crate of her own volition.
They were still some distance apart. Alex needed to develop a relationship with Sunny. It was quite promising that Sunny allowed her father to touch her and grow close to her.
Alex consistently showed Sunny love and compassion, despite the fact that she might be difficult at times. He tried not to be too harsh with Sunny when he discovered that she had pulled the blinds to tears upon his return home. He realized that Sunny was not yet accustomed to living in a house.
Living together was a significant adjustment for them both. Alex became acquainted with the responsibilities of dog ownership. He instructed Sunny on acceptable behavior around the house. They eventually settled into a comfortable daily routine.
Alex took Sunny camping because she seemed to like running outside. She could run as far as she pleased without her tether. Sunny had more faith in Alex since she knew she would not be left behind if they went elsewhere. Alex would bring her home nonetheless.
After that camping trip, Sunny began to develop feelings for Alex. She enjoyed cuddling up with her father and falling asleep by his side. She was unable to quit giving him moist kisses.
The act of rescuing a dog included a significant deal of responsibility, as well as the alteration of the dog’s and adopter’s lives.
