Hurricane Delta was definitely one of the most devastating hurricanes ever to hit the US and Mexico. It was a category 4 hurricane that was so powerful that it caused flooding and destroyed properties. It was dangerous and it headed towards the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico.
Animal rescuer Ricardo Pimental knew how dangerous the hurricane was and made the necessary preparations to keep the animals in Tierra de Animales safe. Ricardo boarded up windows reinforced the roof and made sure that all the animals had shelter and were safe from the hurricane.
Ricardo had over 300 dogs in his rescue shelter and most of them didn’t have a hurricane-proof shelter. So, Ricardo decided that the best solution would be to move all 300 rescue dogs into his home. Ricardo spent hours moving every dog into his house to keep them safe.
By the time Ricardo was finished, his house was filled with 300 dogs and the hallway looked like a living carpet of fur. The dogs were crowded together and Ricardo’s home smelled horrible. However, Ricardo didn’t care about the smell. All he wanted was to keep the animals he cares so deeply for safe.
Ricardo posted a short video of the dogs in his home on his social media account. Even during the storm, Ricardo was busy trying to make sure that all dogs were fed and were comfortable. However, Ricardo didn’t know was that his post on social media already went viral and donations were beginning to pour in to help him care for all 300 rescue dogs.
People from all over the world donated what they could and thousands of dollars were given to Ricardo to help him care for all the animals living at his shelter. Ricardo could hardly believe what was happening and he was more than grateful for all the people who donated and helped him. Thanks to Ricardo’s caring soul, all of the animals living in his shelter were safe, including the dogs.
After the storm passed, Ricardo got help from the community to clean up his home and also repair the damages the hurricane did at the shelter. Ricardo truly cares for the animals he rescues and he makes sure that no animal is left behind. Here’s a video showing the full story of how Ricardo provided shelter to the 300 dogs in his home.
