Brenda Hofstad Hughes and her family had always been huge dog lovers. That was why when they decided to adopt from the local shelters in Texas, they didn’t only get one dog but four!
Chancey Boy, Chloe, Scoop, and Zoey, all of which were pit bulls, were definitely a fun bunch to have. Brenda’s family adore them very much. And they would typically enjoy a lazy afternoon cuddled together on the couch, playing fetch in their yard, or walking around their neighborhood.
However, while they were all angels in their fur parents’ eyes, the four pups still had some naughty bones in them. You see, they all had a bit of separation anxiety. And every time the family left them alone in the house, they would always tear up basically any item they could get a hold of.
So far, the four pit bulls had destroyed one door, one love seat, a rocking chair, seven remotes, too many pillows to count, and everything on Brenda’s work desk! They would also manage to get a hold of their fur dad’s underwear and use it as a toy.
So over the years, Brenda and her husband learned to dog-proof their home and put away the items that were most likely destroyed by the pack. However, they always had a hard time whenever Christmas rolled around.
Since the Christmas tree was too massive to be put away each time they left the house, it would always get demolished by the pack of pit bulls. This would happen every year, so in an attempt to prevent the same incident this year, Brenda decided to dog-proof the tree, as well.
She bought a massive steel gate worth $200, and thankfully, it had been preventing the four pups from getting near their precious Christmas tree. Look at the hilarious ‘Christmas tree force field’ here.
