The people from Los Angeles’ Koreatown community immediately contacted 911 when they noticed a cloud of thick smoke coming from a second-floor apartment’s windows. The firemen arrived within minutes and inspected the building to assess the situation.
When everybody was away, the firemen noticed an unconscious bulldog lying on the floor, probably because of smoke inhalation. After seeing the poor dog, the fireman instantly proceeded to save her, risking his life.
Once the dog was safe in his hands, he immediately hooked the dog up with the oxygen mask. But to their surprise, the opposite happened. The poor girl just laid on the floor, choking and motionless.
So in a desperate attempt to save her, the rescuers tried to do resuscitation by forcing her to drink water and rubbing her belly continuously. After a couple of minutes, the firemen celebrated their triumph when the bulldog, who later will be known as Potato, finally responded.
After experiencing a near-death experience, Potato snuggled up to her rescuers and expressed her thanks by wagging her tail. Thankfully, her owners arrived a little later and took her to the vet, where they found out that their dog would’ve been dead if the firemen didn’t see her.
According to reports, the fire allegedly started in one of the homeowner’s kitchen, but everything is still under investigation. Meanwhile, for Potato, she will be as healthy as a horse after getting proper rest.
Watch and see how these heroes saved the day. Here’s the full video of Potato’s rescue:

One thing we can learn in this story is heroes don’t wear capes. They are just normal humans with extraordinary tasks and conscience.
One can’t describe how hard it is to be one, not unless we experience it ourselves. Nevertheless, we thank them for doing everything they can to save a living being’s life. We salute our firefighters!
Thanks to NBC LA for the video.
