Hope for Paws was informed about a dog that was abandoned by its owner in a school. The dog had been staying in one corner for two weeks already and refused to interact with anyone. People tried to get him to leave that spot, but he continued to stay there.
JoAnn and Katie from the animal rescue organization approached the dog and they saw that it was a spaniel that had a heart-shaped mark on his forehead. He appeared sad and exhausted. The unfortunate dog bore the imprint of affection, but it was abandoned, anxious, and miserable.
They attempted to entice the puppy with a chicken burger so that he would move from his spot. While waiting for the dog to take the food, they believed that someone had taken him for a walk and left him at the school, based on how he looked. The lonely and forlorn expression in his eyes was enough to break anyone’s heart.
The small space that the dog was in made it difficult for the rescuers to approach him, so JoAnn took a snare and carefully extracted him from where he was. However, the dog panicked and became scared of the snare, so they removed it while attempting to calm him down. After some time, he was finally secured and ready to go to the clinic for a check-up.
While he was being groomed and showered at the clinic, he showed that he was a good dog. It appeared that he regained his zest for life as he began to exhibit signs of improvement.
Two weeks after being rescued, the sad and dejected spaniel was gone. The dog didn’t seem like his former self. His foster home at LA Animal Rescue, a non-profit organization that accepts all abandoned animals regardless of breed, age, or status, has provided him with love and happiness and that changed him for the better.
His rescuers named him Rufus, and he turned out to be a loving, energetic, and joyful dog. He enjoys running around joyfully and spending time with his foster family.
We are confident that he will love his forever family with all of his two hearts once he finds them.
