Bus rides are interesting each and every time. You will meet different people each time and you may even be lucky enough to encounter something that would go viral.
This is what happened to a woman named Gemma Louise Burton. One day, she took the bus on her way to school when a rare passenger stepped inside. Gemma was surprised to see a dog ride the bus and when she looked around, she realized that the dog was riding solo and did not have an owner with her.
Upon closer inspection, Gemma realized that the dog had a harness on and it looked healthy. So she presumed that it had an owner.
Gemma just observed the dog during the entire 20 minutes that they were on that bus. The dog just looked at home and kept sniffing around. She also thought that the dog seemed like it was searching for someone until it decided that it should just take a seat in the bus.
Soon, Gemma decided to take out her phone and snap a photo of the dog which she posted on Facebook. She also called out to the owner of the dog to pickup the animal at the bus stop. She didn’t think it would go viral but it did! It has had over 3.6K shares and more than 400 comments.
An animal rescue group saw the post and was able to take the animal under their care. UK law states that the animal should be kept for a week in the shelter to wait for the owner to claim it. If no one shows up, the animal would be up for adoption.
The group also checked on the dog, a Mastiff cross, and found out that it was healthy and was around three years old. No one came forward to adopt the dog but the shelter announced that plenty of people have sent in their interest to adopt her.
