Hanna Westmorelans has Type 1 Diabetes and she is only 12 years old. Because of this, she must always have her service dog with her.
Hanna’s support animal is a golden retriever named Journey. Journey received training in order to assist Hanna and alert her when her blood sugar level is too high.
However, something untoward happened to Journey and this changed Hanna’s situation. Journey died, and Hanna was overcome with grief. She lost her helpful guide, who she also considered to be her best friend and companion.
The loss of Journey was devastating for the young girl. Hanna regarded the dog as both a service animal and a companion. Her family also shared her sadness. And if they wanted to get Hanna another service dog, they needed to collect $10,000.
Tina is Hanna’s mother, and she stated that they continue to mourn Journey’s passing. It was definitely unexpected and they want to know who killed Journey. However, there were no leads.
Hanna’s family is aware that she needs a new service dog, so they have begun fundraising. They will also use the money that they will collect as a prize for anyone who identifies the murderer responsible for Journey’s demise.
Amy and Jay Novacek are a married couple that breeds and raises dogs that will later become assistance animals. They learned about Hanna’s sad situation and decided it was time to assist her. Amy has been dependent on a service dog since her horrible automobile accident, so she and her husband are aware of the benefits that a service dog can provide.
As a donation, the couple has decided to give Hanna a very lovely Labradoodle named Joey. Joey is still a puppy, and they must wait for it to mature before training can begin. Additionally, the Novaceks will cover the costs associated with training.
