Every dog deserves to be loved and feel special. And if you are a loving owner, you will do a lot of things to make your pooch happy. However, some dogs in animal shelters may not have the same experience. But every once in a while, carers and volunteers will do something surprising.
An animal shelter in Georgia has made sure that one of its pooches will feel extra special on his natal day. The Gwinnett Animal Welfare And Enforcement animal shelter has thrown a special birthday party for Brownie, who has just turned two years old. The birthday also marks his one year of living at the said shelter.
Brownie’s celebration
On his birthday, Brownie gets to relax in a pool of water where he chases lots of tennis balls. He also receives a special cake and some homemade treats made by the staff members of the shelter.
At the end of his party, Brownie even has his own photoshoot. At this point, a few of his friends in the shelter have joined him for some adorable photos.
It has been a lovely day indeed.
A way to have Brownie adopted
The celebration is not just to mark his one year at the shelter, but it is also organized to help him get adopted. Apparently, Brownie has had some behavioral issues after living at a shelter for quite long. While he was emotionally sound and stable when he arrived at the shelter, he began to have some anxiety when meeting new people.
This is the reason Brownie is often overlooked for adoption. But Katie Corbett, one of the workers at the shelters, assures everyone that Brownie is a very lovable dog. She makes it clear that he is a very sociable pup.
While he gets a little bit anxious and selective, playgroup has always given him a positive impact. Brownie is the happiest when he has a tennis ball in his mouth or when he is in the yard playing in a pool of water.
