By nature, dogs are inquisitive. So if you give them a chance to escape from your home, they would never think twice about running away. It’s not that they don’t want to be with you anymore – doggos are just too enticed by new scents, sights, and sounds. Unfortunately, this leads them away from your home, and they eventually get lost.
That’s why most families who have a dog make sure that their doggo will have no chance of escaping; that is if these people still care about their pooch. Negligent dog parents don’t go the extra mile to ensure their pooch will stay put, just like Gucci’s former family.
Gucci is an adventurous furball who loves wandering around. So much so that he has been rescued by the Richmond Animal Care and Control (RACC) 16 times! The pitbull always finds ways to run away from his home, and he’s lucky that the RACC always finds him.
The staff at the RACC describes the pittie as a friendly doggo who treats everyone as if they were his humans. Perhaps this is why Gucci kept running away because he wants to spread his doggo love to everyone in Richmond. His previous owners have been fined multiple times since 2014, but late last year, they finally gave up.
It may seem sad, but for us, we think that this is a good thing because maybe Gucci’s previous family wasn’t giving him the attention that he needed. This wandering doggo has now been adopted by a new family, and it looks like things are already looking up.
According to his new mom, Elizabeth Singer, they have been monitoring Gucci’s behavior because they knew about his adventures in the past. It looks like the pup isn’t showing any signs that he wants to escape from their home. The Singers are planning to give Gucci plenty of walks so that the pup gets to sate his curiosity about what lies beyond their fence.
