Hiro is a lovable and sweet puppy. He is also friendly and can effortlessly make friends.
His parents know that they chose right when they chose him because he is the best dog for them, and his most recent act of kindness shows that they were indeed right.
Hiro’s mother, Viviana Davila, was lounging in their backyard when she spotted her dog acting strangely. Hiro was licking something in the grass. Then he would stop to look at Viviana as if he was pleading with her to come. Intrigued, Viviana investigated what had piqued Hiro’s curiosity.
Viviana was astounded to see Hiro gently caressing an injured young bird. Out of all the things she might have imagined would pique his interest, she never expected this. The tiny bird appeared so defenseless, and Hiro clearly wanted to help it.
Viviana wrapped the bird gently in a towel before bringing it to the veterinarian. They discovered at the clinic that she was a young Quaker parrot with paraplegia. She must have fallen right off from a nearby nest, and she would have likely died if Hiro had not discovered her. She has an extremely little chance of survival if she is returned to her natural habitat, therefore the family opted to adopt her.
The bird seemed to be a fighter and so the family named her Hope.
For almost two weeks, Hope has flourished under the care of her new family. Viviana follows the veterinarian’s advice to keep her healthy and comfortable.
Hiro plays a significant part in Hope’s care. The dog behaves as the bird’s protective shadow, never leaving her side.
The growing friendship between Hiro and Hope continues to astound Hiro’s family. Hope teaches them daily perseverance, while Hiro teaches them empathy, generosity, and true friendship.
The family feels extremely fortunate to have both animals, but they are most proud of Hiro and his exemplary character.
