Everyone is aware of how hard it can be to lose a loved one. Even if you convince yourself that the person who has passed is already in a better place, nothing can alleviate the pain, and tears would continue to flow.
With the help and guidance of those around us, we are able to endure these difficult times. Their presence soothes our yearning and fills the void.
It appears that our animal companions are likewise capable of assuming this responsibility when the occasion arises.
In a brief video clip captured by Karla Swindle, a dog and a foal were seen resting next to one another. No one dared to do anything until the dog woke up and appeared to search for its companion.
The foal has recently lost her mother. And, to make matters worse, the filly was only 12 days old, barely old enough to survive on his own.
As a result, in an effort to comfort his new friend, the dog named Zip remained at the foal’s side. It appears to be Zip’s way of showing that he will accompany the foal anytime he is needed.
A few seconds passed with neither Zip nor the foal exhibiting any motion. Both remained in their places, with Zip keeping a watchful eye on the foal.
Suddenly, the foal began to move slowly. With all its strength, the colt pressed its head onto Zip’s body. This action ultimately elicited a nice reaction from the dog.
Zip instantly pressed his muzzle to the foal’s head to console him. Ultimately, he put his entire head on the horse’s head. Zip’s beautiful gesture lasted several seconds.
Karla, the owner of these animals, claimed that this was the first time she had witnessed Zip engaging closely with a horse. Even though the dog is familiar with horses, this is the first time she can recall Zip taking the lead in caring for and comforting an orphaned foal.
Zip has assumed the role of the foal’s foster father. And he will continue to play this job should the foal require his assistance.
