Rocco is a three-year-old German Shepherd. He lived with his owners in Dallas, Texas until they decided to surrender him to the Dallas Animal Services. This happened when the family learned that a new baby was on the way, and they decided that it would be better for them if Rocco was not around.
At the shelter, Rocco became a scared dog. He was always confined to his kennel and was trembling with anxiety. Rocco found nothing familiar in the shelter. All of them were strange, which caused him a lot of tension. His eyes were sad, as though he had no idea why he was there.
One day, a lady arrived at the shelter. She observed Rocco’s trembling. She felt sorrow for the dog, so she recorded a video and uploaded it on the internet. Her objective was to attract attention to the dog so that it would be adopted.
A woman named Preethi Pillaipakkam fosters German Shepherds for DFW German Shepherd Rescue. She saw the video of Rocco and went to the animal shelter to foster the dog. She was aware that dogs like Rocco shouldn’t be forced to endure suffering in shelters.
Preethi stated that Rocco exhibited timid behavior. He was terrified of everything, including entering the vehicle. Once inside, he immediately hid under the seat.
The woman took Rocco home with her. He constantly paced in short distances and was constantly anxious. He was also underweight, weighing 60 pounds when he should have been approximately 85.
Rocco lacked the ability to relax. He was still bewildered. He was once again in a new location, and everything had changed.
Preethi had a German Shepherd and he helped Rocco. He served as Rocco’s guide and helped him feel at ease. Rocco was quickly able to acclimate well because of this dog and now he enjoys time spent with Preethi. Rocco loves playing with his toys as well.
Rocco was quickly adopted by a family who knows his history and is helping him improve.
