All good things are worth the wait. And after 11 years of patiently waiting, Wiggles, a senior Pit Bull, has finally found a home.
Wiggles became the longest resident in 5A’s Animal Shelter. Due to many allergies and its expensive treatment, her first family thought what’s best for her and didn’t have any choice but to surrender her. At the age of three, she took a new shelter and received proper health care.
When she turned 9 years old, the Vet discovered that she also has a large tumor. The good news is, the tumor is benign and has no negative effect on her body. Moving it is a risk so they decided not to operate on her. Still, when her possible new human learns that her tumor is the size of a cantaloupe, sadly they turn away and find another dog.
Aside from considering her health situation, finding a child-free home is another hindrance to her adoption. Instead of giving up, the shelter worked extra miles to endorse her and give her the family she truly deserves. They posted and shared her story on several sites and finally, someone noticed Wiggles!
It is a good thing that we are all easily connected through the Internet. Through social media, Wiggles found a couple that’s willing to embrace her, flaws and all. The couple had a dog who passed away from cancer. This experience made them more than capable to be her new owner. Wiggles waited for a very long time to meet the people who will cherish and adore her on the other hand, the couple seeks a dog with who they will shower their extra love and time.
It was destiny. A family that took 11 years on the making. Sometimes, time will test us. The key is to patiently wait because inevitably, the right time will come.
