Abandonment is one of the most painful things that can happen to humans — and animals as well.
While no one deserves this kind of experience, it cannot be denied that abandonment is not exclusively experienced by humans but also by animals, especially dogs. A story that resounds to this is just like the dog who was found by a kind stranger in a park in Bloomington, Indiana.
After the stranger found the abandoned dog, he immediately called the local sheriff’s department because the dog was in poor health and badly injured. Fortunately, the person who was dispatched to the scene is an animal lover himself. What’s more, his wife is a volunteer for the City of Bloomington Animal Care and Control. Talk about a very delighting coincidence!
The sheriff who responded to the scene was Sheriff Jeff Ripley, and being a dog lover himself, he was pained to see the Bulldog in her state. So Ripley immediately called his wife to inform her about the injured Bulldog in the park. And since they are already aware that the shelter — where Ripley’s wife volunteers — was already closed, they decided to bring the dog to their home that night.
The next day, the husband and wife immediately took the poor dog to the vet for proper medical attention. According to the vet, Daisy, the Bulldog was suffering from injuries that required surgery. On top of that, the emotional wound was another burden that the dog was enduring at that time.
Feeling sorry for the dog, Ripley and his searched for the former family of the dog, but the response they got was, to say the least, truly heartbreaking. The Bulldog’s former owners said that they weren’t interested in the dog anymore. And it was a response that ended all the possibilities that Daisy would be able to return again to her family.
Fortunately, this heartbreaking news also opened a new, bright opportunity for her. The husband and wife decided to officially adopt Daisy and provide her with all the medical attention she needs. Daisy’s adoption also means that their rescued cat and dog would also have a brand new sibling.
At last, with all the painful experiences that Daisy has gone through, she was able to find a new family that can truly love her. Her story, like the beautiful Daisy flower, has finally bloomed.
