When Caitlyn Radel-Paaby and her boyfriend adopted the Great Pyrenees, Willow, earlier this year, the fur mom immediately knew how a good girl she really was. You see, Willow always loved to cuddle and hug her fur parents, and she always made sure to keep an eye over her human brother all the time.
Over the past months, Willow had shown just how protective she was of her family. But it was only recently when Caitlyn and her boyfriend realized that the brave pup would do everything to keep them safe.
That night, the fur mom came home from the grocery store and noticed that their ten-month-old pup wasn’t at the door to greet her. Usually, Willow would stand guard by the front door to welcome her every time she went out. When she wasn’t there, Caitlyn thought that the pup might just be watching her boyfriend and son in the other room.
However, she learned that Willow wasn’t with them, too, and that was when the fur mom realized that something was off. She started searching the house for the canine and immediately found her under the desk in their office, clearly agitated and barking at something on the wall.
At first, Caitlyn couldn’t understand what Willow was so worried about. But after touching the wall, the fur mom realized that the electrical outlet under the desk was on fire! It was starting to spread through their walls, and Willow was there to alert them of the issue.
The couple was quick to call the fire department over, and thankfully, the fire was quickly extinguished without any damage to the house. The firefighters said that if it weren’t for the pup’s sharp sense of smell, their home could have burned down overnight.
Caitlyn couldn’t be prouder of Willow’s bravery and quick thinking, so she decided to share the incident on Facebook. To date, the post had garnered over 100,000 reactions and 32,000 shares. Look at the adorable Great Pyrenees here.
