A four-year-old dog named Abby went inside Walmart to the surprise of the customers and the store crew. She did not mind the “No Dog Policy,” and she looked like she was on a mission.
A customer sales associate named Danielle Robinette was the first to notice the Labrador and Pit Bull Mix. She immediately realized that Abby was a lost dog because she did not have a service dog vest, nor a collar and leash. As an animal lover, Robinette quickly followed Abby, alongside the security guard.
According to Robinette, Abby seemed to look for someone. The pup would pause and look at the people around her. Her adorable nose was up in the air, hoping to see or get a sniff of something familiar.
But she could not find who she was looking for at once, and then a commotion started. Some customers and employees tried to catch the runaway dog then June Rountree, one of the cashiers, noticed her. Rountree hurriedly went to the dog and hugged her immediately. That was the first time the dog stopped around the store.
The people who witnessed the scene were confused but immediately got a leash to secure Abby. Rountree then explained to Robinette that Abby is her dog, and she got lost three weeks ago due to a broken collar. She searched for her everywhere, including in local shelters, but she was nowhere to be found.
Rountree felt sad when Abby got lost. She loved the pup dearly, whom she adopted as a stray years ago. That is why Rountree could not believe her eyes when she saw Abby at the store. She couldn’t be any happier to have her beloved dog back in her arms again.
During her lunch break, Rountree brought Abby home. Their house is only about 2 miles away from her workplace, but it passes two major busy streets. It was such a mystery how Abby got to find Rountree. But, her story is a testament that when dogs set their hearts into something, anything can be possible.
