It’s always heartbreaking to see dogs being neglected and abandoned by their owners. Dogs deserve all the love in the world regardless of their breed. All dogs deserve a loving family that will give them the best life possible.
Unfortunately, there are still people out there that don’t see dogs as part of a family. A lot of people tend to see dogs as just an animal that they own and can freely dispose of when they grow tired of them. That’s precisely what happened to an adorable and sweet pittie named Indy.
Indy was found by animal rescuers working for the Indianapolis Animal Care Services. When Indy was found, he was tied up in the middle of the woods. Indy was emaciated, looked really sick, and didn’t have the will to live. Indy was taken to the veterinarian, where he was diagnosed with kidney failure.
Nobody expected Indy to live long with kidney failure, but animal rescuers from MCP Rescue took Indy in and found the perfect foster dads named Scott and Anthony. When Scott and Anthony took Indy to their home, Indy refused to eat anything except for steak. So, Scott and Anthony started cooking steak for Indy and hand-fed him.
The couple also took Indy to the beach, where they found that Indy regained a little life and showed a bit of his personality. However, when they took him back home, Indy collapsed and was unresponsive. Scott and Anthony rushed Indy to the emergency vet and found a ball of fabric inside his small intestine.
The blockage in Indy’s small intestines caused his organs to start shutting down, which was why the vets who initially assessed him thought it was kidney failure. Indy went into emergency surgery to take off the blockage. When Indy woke up, he instantly felt better to the relief of his dads.
Indy came to life after his surgery, and he’s an entirely different dog. Indy started to play, but Scott and Anthony would always tell themselves to slow down since Indy hasn’t fully recovered yet. Indy began showing signs that he could be the perfect dog for Scott and Anthony.
Scott and Anthony decided to adopt Indy when they introduced Indy to their best friend’s Chihuahua, Godiva. When Indy and Godiva first met, the two dogs instantly fell in love with each other. They love cuddling with each other, and the two dogs became inseparable. Indy would always get excited whenever Godiva’s coming to visit, and he even loves spending time in the shower with his new best friend.
Indy’s miraculous recovery is all thanks to the rescuers who found him and to his new dads that gave him a second chance to have a family. Indy definitely deserves a loving forever home. Here’s a heartwarming video showing Indy’s story and how he found his new forever home.
